One of the most common questions visitors ask before arriving in Pattaya is how much a night out actually costs. Prices vary significantly depending on the area, the type of venue, and what you are drinking. This guide gives you an honest, up-to-date breakdown of nightlife costs across Pattaya in 2026.
Beer Prices by Area
Beer prices are the easiest way to gauge how expensive an area is. The same bottle of Chang or Leo can vary by 100 THB depending on where you drink it.
Walking Street
Walking Street is the most expensive nightlife zone in Pattaya, and beer prices reflect that. In the beer bars and open-air venues along the strip, expect to pay 120 to 150 THB for a standard domestic beer (Chang, Leo, Singha). GoGo bars charge 150 to 180 THB for the same beer. Imported beers like Heineken or Tiger run 160 to 220 THB. Nightclubs on Walking Street sometimes include entry fees with a drink, typically 200 to 300 THB.
Soi 6
Soi 6 is significantly cheaper. A domestic beer at most bars costs 80 to 120 THB. Happy hour promotions, common in the afternoon when Soi 6 is at its busiest, can bring prices down to 60 to 80 THB. The atmosphere is casual and the small bars are competitive with each other, which keeps prices lower.
Soi Buakhao and LK Metro
The Soi Buakhao area including LK Metro and the surrounding beer bar complexes offers the best value for regular drinkers. Domestic beers run 70 to 100 THB, with happy hour deals as low as 55 to 70 THB at some venues. This area attracts a lot of expats and long-stay visitors who know where to find reasonable prices.
Jomtien
The beer bars in Jomtien are similarly priced to Soi Buakhao, with domestic beers at 70 to 100 THB. There are fewer venues overall, but the ones that exist tend to be laid-back and friendly with loyal regular crowds.
Cocktails
Cocktail prices depend heavily on the venue.
- Beer bars and standard bars: Basic cocktails (rum and coke, vodka soda, gin and tonic) run 150 to 250 THB.
- GoGo bars: Cocktails are 200 to 300 THB, sometimes with lower quality ingredients.
- Rooftop bars: Premium cocktails at places like Horizon (Hilton) or The Roof (Siam@Siam) cost 250 to 500 THB. These venues use better spirits and the price includes the view and atmosphere.
- Nightclubs: Cocktails run 200 to 350 THB. Bottle service is popular at the bigger clubs, with bottles of spirits starting at 2,000 to 3,500 THB (including mixers and ice).
Lady Drinks
In beer bars and GoGo bars, you can buy the staff a “lady drink.” This is how many of the women working in bars earn part of their income. When you buy one, she receives a commission.
- Beer bars (Soi Buakhao, LK Metro): 150 to 180 THB per drink.
- Beer bars (Walking Street): 180 to 220 THB per drink.
- GoGo bars: 200 to 250 THB per drink.
There is no obligation to buy lady drinks. Some visitors enjoy the social aspect, while others prefer to simply drink in peace. Nobody will pressure you excessively, though the staff may hint.
Bar Fines
A bar fine is the fee you pay to the bar if you want a staff member to leave with you before her shift ends. The fine compensates the bar for losing a worker for the evening.
- Beer bars (Soi Buakhao, Soi 6): 300 to 500 THB.
- Beer bars (Walking Street): 500 to 700 THB.
- GoGo bars (standard): 600 to 1,000 THB.
- GoGo bars (premium/showcase): 1,000 to 2,000 THB.
The bar fine is only the fee to the bar. Any arrangement beyond that is between you and the individual.
Club Entry Fees
Most beer bars in Pattaya have no cover charge. You walk in, sit down, and pay for what you drink. Clubs and GoGo bars are different.
- GoGo bars: Generally no entry fee, but you are expected to buy at least one drink.
- Nightclubs on Walking Street: Entry fees of 200 to 400 THB are common, often including one drink. Some clubs charge more on weekend nights or for special events.
- Insomnia, Differ, and the larger clubs: Entry ranges from 200 to 500 THB with a drink included on regular nights. Special DJ events or holiday nights can push this to 500 to 1,000 THB.
Rooftop Bar Prices
Pattaya’s rooftop bars cater to a more upscale crowd and prices reflect the premium setting.
- Cocktails: 250 to 500 THB.
- Wine by the glass: 250 to 450 THB.
- Beer: 180 to 280 THB.
- Small plates and bar snacks: 200 to 500 THB.
Horizon at the Hilton, The Roof at Siam@Siam, and Edge are the main rooftop options. These are best enjoyed for a sunset drink or two before heading to cheaper venues for the rest of the night.
Tipping Etiquette
Tipping is not mandatory in Pattaya, but it is appreciated and common in nightlife settings.
- Bar staff: Rounding up your bill or leaving 20 to 50 THB is a nice gesture.
- Servers in restaurants: 10 to 20% of the bill if service was good, though many restaurants add a service charge.
- In GoGo bars: Some visitors tip dancers on stage. A 20 THB note is standard.
- General rule: Tipping is never expected in the way it is in the United States. Small tips are generous enough in the Pattaya context.

Mid-Range Night (Mixed Areas)

Money-Saving Tips
- Drink at Soi Buakhao or Soi 6 first. Beer prices are 30 to 50% cheaper than Walking Street. Pre-game here before heading to pricier areas.
- Take advantage of happy hours. Many bars on Soi 6 and Soi Buakhao run happy hours from 14:00 to 19:00 with significantly reduced prices.
- Avoid buying rounds. In a group, buying rounds can quickly inflate your tab. Pay for your own drinks and you will spend less.
- Eat before you go out. Street food or food court meals are a fraction of restaurant prices in nightlife areas. A full meal at Terminal 21’s food court costs under 100 THB.
- Use Grab for transport. Negotiating with drivers on Walking Street at 02:00 always results in inflated prices. Grab gives you a fixed fare.
- Withdraw cash wisely. ATMs charge 220 THB per transaction for foreign cards. Withdraw larger amounts less frequently, or use a Wise card for better rates and lower fees.
ATM Fees and Exchange Rates
Cash is king in Pattaya nightlife. Very few bars accept credit cards, and none of the smaller beer bars do.
- ATM fee: 220 THB per withdrawal for foreign cards, regardless of amount.
- Exchange rate markup: Thai ATMs also apply a conversion markup of 3 to 5% on top of whatever your home bank charges.
- Best strategy: Use a travel debit card from Wise or Revolut that reimburses ATM fees and offers mid-market exchange rates. Alternatively, bring USD or EUR and exchange at a dedicated money exchange booth like SuperRich on Second Road for rates significantly better than ATMs.
