About Thai Baht
The Thai Baht (THB) is the official currency of Thailand. In Pattaya, you will use Baht for everything — from street food and baht bus rides to hotel bills and shopping at Terminal 21. Most ATMs dispense 1,000 THB notes, and smaller vendors prefer cash in 20, 50, and 100 THB bills.
Where to Exchange Money in Pattaya
SuperRich and Vasu Exchange offer the best rates in Pattaya. You will find exchange booths along Beach Road, Second Road, and inside shopping malls like Terminal 21 and Central Festival. Avoid exchanging at the airport — rates are significantly worse.
ATMs are everywhere but charge a flat 220 THB fee per withdrawal on top of your bank's fees. Withdraw the maximum amount (usually 20,000 or 30,000 THB) to minimize the per-transaction cost.
Wise or Revolut cards offer near-interbank exchange rates with low fees and are increasingly popular among expats and frequent visitors. Many Pattaya restaurants and shops accept card payments, though smaller vendors and street food stalls remain cash-only.
